What Is CBCT 3D Imaging?
Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) uses cone-shaped x-rays to produce a 3-dimensional image of your jawbone and other facial structures. The 3D images show the exact shape of your jaw, mouth, and facial features.
We need as much information as possible when planning your dental implants. CBCT 3D imaging pictures soft tissue and bone simultaneously, so we can see how you might respond to your dental implant procedure in different areas of your mouth and face.
What Are the Benefits of CBCD 3D Imaging?
CBCT 3D imaging comes with many benefits that, in the end, all work toward the goal of designing an implant that fits directly in your smile and supports your oral health. These benefits are why we invest in technology–to help us support you better.
Non-Invasive
To plan your dental implants, we need a lot of information. This information is vital when considering how your implant will interact with your jawbone and existing teeth. CBCT 3D Imaging lets us acquire that information with a simple scan that tells us so much.
Completing the Picture
The fact that we get a 3D image as opposed to the 2D image we get on a conventional x-ray is vital to our process. We can evaluate your mouth and jaw structure more accurately by seeing multiple views and angles with a single scan.
CBCT also scans soft tissue in addition to bone, which is crucial to understanding how your implant will interact with your existing teeth.
Time-Saving
To fully scan your mouth and jaw takes less than a minute with CBCT 3D imaging. Scans are readily available, so we can get to work right away at planning your implant and getting you the smile you’ve always wanted.
